About the Project
New Yorkers for Parks
For over 100 years New Yorkers for Parks has protected and promoted open space across the city. Perry Garvin Studio worked closely with NY4P to more clearly communicate their broad impact with a new website that highlights their advocacy, research, and community organizing efforts. After many collaborative meetings and workshops we crafted a design that articulates NY4P through rich visuals, multimedia features, bold graphics, and strong iconography. An interactive map presents NY4P’s research to inform and empower communities throughout New York City to advocate for their open space needs.
Perry Garvin Studio built the site by hand in Brooklyn using the Craft content management system. We focused on applying contemporary coding best practices including modular components, search engine optimizations through quality programming instead of tricks, and efficient development emphasizing performance. Every aspect of the website from management to visitor experience responds to New Yorkers for Parks’ custom needs.
“Perry was great to work with! As a small nonprofit, our schedules are often unpredictable as we respond to current events and the needs of the people we serve. Perry was flexible, responsive, and a pleasure to work with. He paid close attention to our needs and gave us a website that it super easy to learn and use, which is so essential when time is at a premium. We highly recommend him!”
