We designed and built an online magazine for The Metropolitan Museum of Art Store to highlight products and their provenance, all inspired by the museum’s encyclopedic collections and special exhibition program. The Met Store offers gifts, books, stationery, jewelry, sculpture, and reproductions inspired by 5000 years of art.

The Met Store sought out our studio to design and build an online magazine to showcase featured products with salient art historical details and to give an insight into the inner workings of the store and new retail concepts through behind-the-scenes content.

Working closely and iteratively with their marketing, e-commerce, and design teams on a very short schedule, we anchored the site design in full-bleed hero graphics to create a dynamic look and feel. Meticulous typography based off of the museum’s iconic logo provides a comfortable reading experience that adapts to mobile and tablet devices.
